Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we collect it, where it goes, and the choices you have.
Who we are
Web Shed Studio (ABN 68 416 351 189) is a sole trader based in Victoria, Australia. We design and build websites for local businesses. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Web Shed Studio.
We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), whether or not we are strictly required to.
What personal information we collect
The only personal information we collect through this website is what you enter into our quote-request form:
- your name
- your business name
- your email address
- your phone number (optional)
- the project type and package you’re interested in
- anything you choose to write in the message field
We do not ask for or store payment card details, identity documents, or sensitive information through this site, and there are no user accounts or logins. If you email or call us directly, we’ll also have whatever you choose to share that way.
How we collect it
- Directly from you, when you submit the quote form or contact us.
- Our form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, an anti-spam tool that briefly checks your browser and IP address to confirm you’re a person and not an automated bot. It is designed to make this check without tracking you across other websites.
Why we collect it
We use your information only to:
- respond to your enquiry
- prepare and send you a quote
- carry out work you engage us to do
- keep records of our dealings with you
We do not add you to a marketing list, sell your information, or use it for advertising.
Where your information is stored
When you submit the form:
- It passes through our website host, Vercel (Vercel Inc., United States), which runs the code that processes the form. Vercel handles the request in transit and keeps short-term technical logs that may include your IP address.
- The enquiry is then emailed to us using Zoho Mail. Our mailbox is hosted in Zoho’s Australian data centre.
- The email in our inbox is the only ongoing record. We do not keep a separate database of enquiries, and only the owner of Web Shed Studio has access to that inbox.
Who we share it with
We don’t sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the website and our business, and only so they can provide that service to us:
| Provider | Purpose | Location |
|---|---|---|
| Vercel Inc. | Website hosting and form processing | United States |
| Zoho Corporation | Email (our inbox and replies) | Data stored in Australia; Zoho is a global company |
| Cloudflare, Inc. | Anti-spam check on the form (Turnstile) | United States |
| Vercel Analytics | Aggregate, cookieless visitor statistics | United States |
We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
Does your information go overseas?
Yes. Vercel, Cloudflare and Vercel Analytics are based in the United States, so some information is handled there. That includes technical data such as IP addresses, and the contents of your enquiry as it is processed and delivered. Our email data is stored in Australia, but Zoho is an international company and its staff outside Australia may be able to access systems for support and administration.
Cookies and analytics
- We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. There is no Google Analytics and no Meta (Facebook) Pixel on this site.
- Cloudflare Turnstile may set a technical cookie or use local storage on your device to run its anti-bot check.
- Our site stores one small setting in your browser: whether you’ve dismissed an on-page prompt. It stays on your device and is never sent to us or anyone else.
- We use Vercel Analytics, which counts visits and page views in aggregate. It does not use cookies and is not designed to identify individual people.
How long we keep your information
- Enquiries that don’t lead to us working together: kept for up to 2 years, then deleted.
- If you become a client: we keep records relating to the work for 7 years after it finishes, to meet tax and business record-keeping obligations, then delete them.
- You can ask us to delete your information sooner (see below), and we will unless we’re required by law to keep it.
Accessing or correcting your information
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask for a copy, or ask us to correct it. Email hello@webshedstudio.com.au. We’ll respond within a reasonable time (usually within 30 days) and won’t charge you for a straightforward request. If we can’t give you access or make a correction, we’ll explain why in writing.
Making a privacy complaint
If you think we’ve mishandled your personal information, please contact us first at hello@webshedstudio.com.au so we can try to put it right. We’ll acknowledge your complaint promptly and aim to resolve it within 30 days.
If you’re not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC):
- Website: oaic.gov.au
- Phone: 1300 363 992
If there’s a data breach
If we become aware of a data breach involving your personal information, we’ll assess it promptly. Where it is likely to result in serious harm, we’ll notify you and the OAIC in line with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme, and tell you what steps you can take.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always on this page, with the effective date shown at the top. Material changes will be reflected in an updated date.
